Enjoy San Francisco on the Bay by going Kayaking. Whether you’re already good at it or just a beginner, there’s a great kayaking experience waiting for you. Walk a block from Hotel VIA to City Kayaks at Pier 40, rent a kayak, get outfitted and enjoy the beauty of our South Beach neighborhood from the water.
Bike the Embarcadero and enjoy great views, a variety of restaurants and bars, the historic Ferry Building, museums and more while you ride your way up to Pier 39 and the iconic Fisherman’s Wharf. It’s an easy ride and there are many bikes and scooter rentals surrounding Hotel VIA.
Taste beer! One of the best kept secrets of the South Beach neighborhood is the abundance of breweries in every direction. From the well known New Belgium Brewery that is newly opened a couple blocks down on 3rd street, the almost well known 21st Amendment around the corner on 2nd street, to the relatively unknown but equally tasty microbrews such as Black Hammer Brewing and Local Brewing Co, there is no shortage of great beers to be tasted all within a few blocks of the hotel. Relive the fun of Mini-golf while learning about San Francisco. A short walk from Hotel VIA, on the path to the Chase Center, check into Stagecoach Greens, the only outdoor mini golf course in San Francisco. This urban adventure not only has the fun of miniature golf but each hole offers the history, invention and fun of San Francisco. And the bonus of this little adventure…there is food truck heaven adjacent to the miniature golf course.
Take a fabulous Ferry ride and discover the treasures of the Bay Area. Walk up the Embarcadero to the Ferry Building and take your pick of different adventures around the Bay. Ferry to Sausalito or any of the other quaint towns of Marin County for a day of shopping, or just sightseeing. Ferry over to Angel Island and take an amazing, and easy, hike to the top of the island for 360 degree views of the Bay Area.
